Abstract
General Background: YouTube has emerged as a popular platform for entertainment content, with prank videos gaining significant attention due to their ability to engage audiences through surprise and humor. Specific Background: Angga Candra's false voice prank videos have attracted a substantial following on YouTube, serving as an interesting case for analyzing audience engagement and narrative structure. Knowledge Gap: While studies on digital content often focus on general viewership metrics, there is limited research on how narrative techniques in prank videos contribute to audience engagement and emotional response. Aims: This study aims to analyze the content of Angga Candra's false voice prank videos by applying Tzvetan Todorov's narrative model, focusing on the narrative structure and its impact on audience engagement. Results: The analysis reveals that Angga Candra’s videos follow a clear narrative structure, with an initial disturbance (false voice), a middle phase of resolution (reveal of melodious voice), and a satisfying ending, leading to a positive emotional shift from confusion to admiration. Indicators of success, such as likes, comments, and viewership, demonstrate the video's effectiveness in capturing attention and maintaining audience interest.
